Arlington, Texas city information and a direct route to cheaper car insurance

Arlington, Texas was founded in 1876. As the soil was extremely fertile, allowing for fruits and vegetables (oats, hay, corn, peanuts) as well as dairy cattle and livestock to flourish in the western part, it attracted many farmers. At one time, Arlington had five gins to process cotton. It became a large distribution center for shipments to other towns. Arlington also had a mineral well in the middle of town. The water was bottled for sale and medicinal crystals were made and sold.

Arlington is located between Dallas and Forth Worth and has an estimated population of over 360,000 people. Between 1980 and 1990 its population increased by 64% and it remains one of the nation’s fastest growing cities.
